Beavertown Lazer Crush Review – A Bold Alcohol-Free IPA

“A lazer-sharp IPA at a Monday to Sunday crushable 0.3% alc… Crush it real good.” – Beavertown Brewery

About Beavertown Brewery

Beavertown started out as a kitchen-based experiment in East London and quickly grew into one of the UK’s most recognisable craft breweries. Known for standout beers like Neck Oil and Gamma Ray, the brand combines punchy, hop-forward flavours with bold, sci-fi-inspired artwork.

Now fully owned by Heineken, Beavertown continues to brew with creativity and flair  though the “independent” label is up for debate among craft purists.

Introducing Lazer Crush IPA

Lazer Crush is Beavertown’s ambitious foray into the alcohol-free IPA space. At just 0.3% ABV, this brew is designed for those who want the taste of a real beer without the booze.

Made using a special yeast that ferments without producing much alcohol, Lazer Crush promises all the punch of a modern IPA minus the morning-after regrets.

My Review:

Aroma

A gentle hoppy aroma with soft fruity notes. Hints of peach and sweet citrus come through subtly, giving it a laid-back but inviting nose

Appearance

Pours a lightly hazy straw-gold with a small white head that fades quickly. Visually, it fits the style bright and clean, with a nice bit of fizz.

Taste & Mouthfeel

On the palate, you’re first hit with a malty backbone slightly biscuity, even  before a wave of fruity sweetness arrives. It’s juicy and quite lively, thanks to a tight carbonation that adds zip.

The finish is smooth but noticeably sweet  something that may divide opinion. I found it refreshing overall, though I could see the sweetness becoming a bit much after two or three cans.

Final Verdict

As a fan of Beavertown’s Neck Oil, I was curious to see how their alcohol-free version would hold up and honestly, Lazer Crush delivers more than I expected. It’s fruity, fun, and has enough depth to feel like a proper IPA rather than a soft drink in disguise.

That said, the sweetness could be a sticking point for some. But if you’re after a flavour-packed, alcohol-free beer for sunny afternoons or weeknight sipping, Lazer Crush is well worth a try.

GOOD/BAD

👍 What I Liked
Subtle malty base with bright, fruity character
Light body with crisp, refreshing carbonation
A great alcohol-free option for hop lovers
👎 What Could Be Better
Might be a touch too sweet for some palates
Lacks the dry finish or bitterness of a classic IPA
