Estrella Damm 0.0 Review – A Clean, Classic Alcohol-Free Lager
Manufacturer Description
“Estrella Damm 0.0 is a clean, sparkling, transparent amber colour with shades of gold. It has a light head and lively, fine bubbles. It has a clean, intense aroma, with hops taking centre stage and with hints of fresh white flowers.
The taste is delicate, with suggestions of grains and toast. The mouthfeel is smooth but with personality. A beer that is fresh with just the right amount of bitterness. The recommended serving temperature is 4ºC to 6ºC.” – Estrella Damm
About Estrella Galicia
Estrella Damm is one of Spain’s most iconic breweries, founded in Barcelona in 1876 and closely associated with the city’s Mediterranean lifestyle. Best known for its flagship Estrella Damm lager, the brewery has built a reputation around clean, refreshing beers designed to be enjoyed in warm weather and social settings.
While deeply rooted in tradition, Estrella Damm has continued to adapt to modern drinking habits. Its alcohol-free range reflects this shift, offering familiar lager flavours in formats that suit more mindful drinking without losing that unmistakable Estrella character.
Introducing Estrella Damm 0.0
Estrella Damm 0.0 is the alcohol-free version of the brewery’s classic lager, created to mirror the clean, crisp profile the brand is known for.
Brewed using carefully controlled processes to remove alcohol while retaining flavour, it aims to stay true to the original beer’s light malt base and subtle hop bitterness.
Positioned as an easy-going, everyday alcohol-free lager, Estrella Damm 0.0 is designed for drinkers who want something familiar, refreshing, and uncomplicated at 0.0% ABV.
My Review: First Sip Impressions
Aroma
On the nose, Estrella Damm 0.0 offers a light, clean hop aroma with subtle floral notes.
It’s fresh rather than overpowering, and importantly, it smells like a lager rather than a sweet malt drink.
Appearance
Poured into a glass, it forms a decent white head that lingers nicely. The beer itself is a bright golden‑amber colour with good clarity and lively carbonation, ticking all the visual boxes you’d expect from a pilsner‑style lager.
Taste & Mouthfeel
The first sip is clean and straightforward, leaning into a classic Mediterranean lager profile. Light malt sweetness comes through first, followed by a gentle hop bitterness that keeps things crisp and refreshing rather than bold or resinous.
There’s a subtle dryness on the finish, which helps avoid any lingering sweetness.
Carbonation is lively without being sharp, giving the beer a light, easy-drinking mouthfeel that feels well suited to warmer weather and longer sessions.
It’s not trying to reinvent alcohol-free lager — it’s aiming for familiarity, and it largely succeeds.

Verdict
Slight confession: when I was carrying out this review I initially got confused between Estrella Damm 0.0 and Estrella Galicia 0.0 which if on tap when I’m out at the pub (as in my West End adventure), I’m usually drawn straight to it.
It’s one of those alcohol‑free options that genuinely helps you feel like you’re not missing out when everyone else is ordering pints.
So I went in with high expectations and was a bit disappointed when I realised I’d picked up Estrella Damm 0.0 instead.
That said, it turned out to be a joy to review.
Estrella Damm 0.0 holds up really well, delivering a refreshing, well-balanced lager with a satisfying mouthfeel and it’s now a firm favourite for me too.
