January 2026 – Alcohol-Free News Round-Up

January is always a busy month in the alcohol-free world, so here’s a quick round-up of some of the most interesting AF news to kick off 2026.

Brew Dog Releases Mello

BrewDog have launched two new alcohol-free options called Mello, combining their craft beer experience with added magnesium, aiming to create a more relaxing drinking occasion.

It’s an interesting move less “party AF” and more “wind-down AF”. I’m definitely curious to see how it tastes.

Alcohol-Free vs Low-ABV Explained

RedCat calls draught AF beer a ‘game-changer’

UK pub chain RedCat has reported strong growth in alcohol-free beer sales, particularly where a draught AF option is available.

This backs up what a lot of AF drinkers already know seeing alcohol-free beer on tap makes it feel like a proper choice, not an afterthought.

London Tube Line is being rebranded for the month of January

London’s Bakerloo line has been temporarily rebranded BakerI0.0 as part of a collaboration with Heineken 0.0.

A classic bit of January marketing, but it’s hard to miss and anything that normalises alcohol-free choices in everyday life feels like a win.

Mash Gang Launches “Wet January”

Mash Gang has launched Wet January, encouraging people to swap Dry January for alcohol-free options while still going out and socialising — tackling loneliness in what’s often the toughest month of the year.

It’s a refreshing take and one that feels much more sustainable than total abstinence for many people.

Celebrity news: Elton John Zero

And finally, celebrity AF news, Elton John has announced the launch of his own alcohol-free sparkling wine, Elton John Zero.

Another big name entering the space, and one to keep an eye on.
