Bero Double Tasty Review – Alcohol-Free West Coast IPA

Manufacturer Description

“From pour to finish, Double Tasty West Coast Style IPA delivers on bitterness and body with signature notes of citrus and pine and a crisp, clean finish” – Bero

About Bero Brewery

Bero Brewery is part of the new generation of non-alcoholic beer brands proving that cutting back doesn’t mean missing out. Co-founded by Tom Holland, Bero blends a modern craft-beer mindset with premium ingredients to create beers that feel considered, contemporary, and aimed squarely at beer lovers.

With a growing range that includes crisp lagers, wheat beers, and hop-led IPAs, Bero focuses on familiar styles reimagined for a lower-alcohol lifestyle.

Introducing Double Tasty

Double Tasty is Bero’s take on a West Coast IPA brewed to highlight classic American hop character in an alcohol-free format.

Using a blend of US hops, it takes inspiration from traditional West Coast IPAs, leaning into a clean, dry profile and a modern craft approach.

Sitting comfortably below 0.5% ABV, Double Tasty is positioned as a go-to option for drinkers who enjoy hop-forward beers but want a non-alcoholic alternative that still feels recognisably ‘IPA’.

Tasting Review: Aroma, Appearance & Drinkability

Aroma

A fresh, hop-led aroma with noticeable fruity and citrus notes.

Appearance

A dark golden beer with lively carbonation and a small but persistent head.

Taste & Mouthfeel

The flavour is rich and layered, showing good depth with subtle dried fruit notes.

Lively carbonation carries through from the pour, contributing to a rounded and satisfying mouthfeel, with a pleasant finish that lingers.

Verdict

I came into this review with a bit of apprehension. Celebrity-backed brands can be hit or miss, and it often feels like there’s a famous name attached to just about everything these days from books to football clubs to breweries with mixed results.

That said, with Tom Holland being a Kingston boy (and me now living in Kingston myself), I was also genuinely curious to try Double Tasty, especially as several of Bero’s beers nod to Kingston in name and theme.

Thankfully, it didn’t disappoint. Double Tasty delivers plenty of flavour and depth, backed up by excellent carbonation and a really enjoyable all-round mouthfeel.

It’s a beer that feels considered rather than gimmicky, and one I found genuinely refreshing.

My main gripe is availability in the UK. While Bero is clearly a US-focused brand, the Kingston connection makes you hope it’ll become easier to find locally.

I did spot a Bero stand at the Curzon cinema, but come on Tom let’s get it into some pubs around here.
