If you’ve ever enjoyed a cold BrewDog Lost Lager, you’ll be pleased to know the Scottish brewing rebels have created an alcohol-free version that doesn’t lose its edge.

Lost AF is BrewDog’s 0.5% take on their signature lager  a drink designed to deliver the same crisp refreshment and bold flavour, minus the booze.

Manufacturer Description

“Our latest foray into alcohol-free beers sees us take our iconic Lost Lager and turn it into a crisp and refreshing 0.5% crusher.” – Brewdog

About BrewDog

BrewDog has never been one to play it safe. Founded in 2007 by James Watt and Martin Dickie, the Ellon based brewery built its name on bold flavours, punk-inspired branding, and a mission to shake up the beer industry. From small beginnings in northeast Scotland, BrewDog has become a global name with bars and fans across the world.

Over the years, they’ve also been at the forefront of the alcohol-free craft beer movement. With releases like Punk AF, Hazy AF, Nanny State, and now Lost AF, BrewDog has shown that great beer doesn’t need to rely on alcohol for character. Their alcohol-free lineup caters perfectly to modern drinkers who want all the flavour and attitude of craft beer without the hangover.

Introducing Lost AF

Lost AF takes the base recipe of Lost Lager and dials down the alcohol not the flavour. The result is a beer designed to offer crisp refreshment, a subtle hop bite, and a clean finish that feels right at home on a sunny afternoon or during a midweek wind-down.

Tasting Review: Aroma, Appearance & Drinkability

Aroma

As soon as you crack the can, there’s a delicate hoppy aroma with light citrus notes. It’s clean and subtle inviting without being overpowering.

Appearance

In the glass, Lost AF pours a bright golden colour with a lively sparkle and a soft, frothy head that holds up surprisingly well for a 0.5% beer.

Taste & Mouthfeel

The flavour balances gentle bitterness with a pleasant malt backbone. It’s refreshing, crisp, and just bitter enough to remind you you’re drinking a proper lager. The carbonation gives it a satisfying fizz, coating the mouth in a way that feels genuinely full-bodied for an alcohol-free option.

Verdict

While I’ve always leaned more towards BrewDog’s IPAs, Lost AF really surprised me. It’s a clean, hoppy, and highly drinkable alcohol-free lager that doesn’t feel like a compromise. If I were handed this in a blind taste test, I’d struggle to tell it apart from the alcoholic version.

This is the kind of beer that shines on a warm day ideal for BBQs, picnics, or simply unwinding after work when you want the beer experience without the buzz.
