To Øl Implosion Review – A Standout Alcohol-Free IPA
About To Øl
Founded in 2010 in Copenhagen, To Øl (Danish for “Two Beers”) has built a reputation as one of Scandinavia’s most innovative craft breweries. Known for bold experimentation, they brew everything from punchy IPAs and decadent stouts to crisp lagers and vibrant sours, always pushing the boundaries of style and technique.
In 2020, To Øl opened their large-scale facility, To Øl City, in a converted food factory west of Copenhagen. This gave them space to scale up while staying true to their creative roots. Alongside their full-strength beers, they’ve embraced the alcohol-free movement with releases like Implosion, showing that flavourful, low-ABV brewing can be just as exciting.
Introducing Implosion
Implosion is To Øl’s answer to the growing demand for craft alcohol-free beers. At just 0.3% ABV, it’s brewed with barley, wheat, and carefully chosen hops to deliver the tropical fruit and citrus character of a modern pale ale.
This beer reflects To Øl’s wider philosophy of pushing boundaries and experimenting with styles, proving that non-alcoholic beer doesn’t have to mean compromising on taste.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Fresh light hoppy aroma, with a touch of grapefruit
Appearance: Pours a nice hazy light brown/yellow beer, with a nice head forming, leaving a lively looking drink
Taste & Mouthfeel: A great complex flavour, complemented by the bitter grapefruit undertone. A nice fizz blends nicely with the flavour to give a great mouthfeel

Final Verdict
This was my first time trying a beer from To Øl, and Implosion didn’t disappoint. Its sharp, grapefruit-driven flavour and balanced body make it one of the more impressive alcohol-free IPAs I’ve tasted.
It’s a beer that feels every bit as “craft” as its alcoholic counterparts, making it a great choice for anyone looking to cut back without sacrificing flavour. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more from To Øl.
