One of their standout creations is the New World Lager, a bright and modern take on a classic style. My Review: First Sip Impressions 

Aroma

Light, zesty and inviting. There’s an immediate hit of citrus think lemon zest and a touch of lime backed by a gentle floral hoppiness. It’s clean and fresh, with just enough aroma to hint at the flavour to come.

Appearance

Pours a bright golden colour with excellent clarity. A soft, foamy white head forms and lingers nicely, giving it that classic lager look. Lively carbonation keeps everything looking crisp and refreshing in the glass.

Taste & Mouthfeel

This is where things get interesting. The flavour comes in with a confident citrus-forward profile light grapefruit, a touch of sweet orange, and a subtle honeyed malt backbone that balances things out.

It’s more hop-forward than your typical lager, but never overpowering. The bitterness is gentle and well-judged, keeping things crisp rather than sharp.

Carbonation is spot on lively without being aggressive and it lifts the flavours nicely. The mouthfeel is light to medium, giving it enough body to feel satisfying while still being easy-drinking. Clean, refreshing, and surprisingly full-flavoured for a 0.5% lager.

Verdict

Having tried a few beers from Drop Bear (including their Tropical IPA and Bonfire Stout), expectations were already fairly high and thankfully, this one delivers.

The New World Lager strikes a great balance between drinkability and flavour. It keeps the clean, crisp character you want from a lager but adds a modern, hoppy twist that makes it stand out from the crowd.

This isn’t just a “good for alcohol-free” beer it’s a genuinely enjoyable lager in its own right. Refreshing, flavourful, and easy to come back to, it’s a great option whether you’re cutting back or just want something lighter without sacrificing taste.
