Lervig No Worries IPA Review: Scandinavian Craft Brewing Without the Alcohol
The world of alcohol-free beer has expanded dramatically in recent years, with breweries across the globe embracing the challenge of creating flavourful beers without the alcohol. Among the names helping to drive this movement is Lervig, a Norwegian craft brewery known for its innovative approach and award-winning beers.
Founded in 2003 in Stavanger, Norway, Lervig has built a reputation for pushing boundaries. What began as a small local brewery has grown into one of Scandinavia’s most respected craft beer producers, exporting its beers to markets around the world. While Lervig is perhaps best known for its bold IPAs, rich stouts, and experimental collaborations, the brewery has also recognised the growing demand for high-quality alcohol-free options.
That demand led to the creation of the No Worries range, a collection of low and alcohol-free beers designed to offer the character and enjoyment of craft beer while keeping alcohol content to a minimum. The range includes several styles, giving drinkers the opportunity to enjoy everything from hop-forward pale ales to darker, malt-driven offerings without the higher ABV traditionally associated with craft brewing.
Tasting Notes
Aroma
Pouring the beer into a glass immediately releases a pleasant hop-forward aroma. Tropical fruit notes are the first thing that stand out, with hints of mango and citrus coming through clearly.
There’s also a subtle malt backbone that balances the fruitiness nicely, creating an inviting nose that feels much closer to a traditional craft IPA than many alcohol-free alternatives.
Appearance
The beer pours a bright golden colour with a clean, slightly hazy appearance. A white foamy head forms quickly and, while it doesn’t linger for long, it leaves the beer looking lively and appealing in the glass.
Streams of carbonation continue to rise throughout the drink, adding to its fresh and refreshing presentation.
Taste & Mouthfeel
The flavour profile strikes a nice balance between hops and malt. Tropical fruit flavours, particularly mango, are present from the first sip, supported by a gentle citrus character and a light bitterness that never becomes overpowering. The malt provides enough sweetness to keep everything balanced and gives the beer a satisfying depth that some alcohol-free IPAs can lack.
The mouthfeel is another strong point. It has a smooth consistency with a lively level of carbonation that helps lift the flavours and keeps the beer feeling crisp and refreshing. Despite its low alcohol content, it avoids feeling thin or watery, making it an enjoyable and highly drinkable option.

Final Verdict
Before trying No Worries IPA, I wasn’t familiar with Lervig as a brewery, so I approached this beer with an open mind and plenty of curiosity. I’m pleased to say it made a very positive first impression.
This is a well-crafted alcohol-free IPA that delivers far more flavour and character than many beers in the category. The combination of tropical fruit notes, balanced bitterness and impressive mouthfeel makes it feel like a genuine craft IPA rather than simply a low-alcohol substitute.
What stands out most is how complete the overall drinking experience feels. From the inviting aroma to the refreshing finish, No Worries IPA offers plenty of flavour while remaining highly approachable and easy to drink.
If you’re a fan of alcohol-free IPAs or simply looking to explore beers from Scandinavian craft breweries, Lervig No Worries IPA is well worth adding to your shortlist. It’s certainly left me interested in exploring more of Lervig’s range in the future.
